Swap Meet at Big Chill 10

Photos by PixelPusher, Tim Simpson Photography and The Northern Light Painters.

Friday, 5th – Sunday, 8th August
Swap Meet in The Enchanted Garden, The Big Chill, Eastnor Castle Deer Park, nr. Ledbury, Herefordshire

After a successful first event at The Barbican in February, Swap Meet headed to The Big Chill Festival this summer! A nod to the infamous Roadium Open Air Market swap meets of the 80s, where Dr Dre distributed his mix-tapes including lyrics from artists LL Cool J, 2 Live Crew and samples from Kraftwork.

Extending contemporary mix-tape and bedroom studio culture Swap Meet facilitates live and physical face-to-face exchange of material between artists operating from different genres enabling experimentation and infinite collaging possibilities.

Swap Meet invites a broad spectrum of artists and organisations to the Big Chill. From pioneering contemporary classical record label and classical music super club promoters Non-Classical, to youth music organisations including Urban Development and Rising Tide. With a good dose of sonic arts and experimentation provided from organisations including MFA Computational Studio Arts at Goldsmiths University, FACT and Cybersonica.
